Since its inception, the Academy of Indian Dances has set for itself two purposes: one, imparting training in Bharatanatyam and folk dances of India; and two, contributing to worthy social causes, especially related to women and children. The Academy has donated proceeds from its concerts to orphanages, differently-abled children, homes for the visually-challenged, the children’s wards of hospitals, senior-citizen homes, and so on. In this way, the Academy serves two ends – keeping our culture and tradition alive, and raising funds for social causes.
